Found in Sulawesi in dense primary forests on large tree on rocky hillsides at elevations around 500 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with patent, lrsfy throughout stem carrying 2 opposite rows, obliquely descending, oblong, unequally bilobed apically, lobules obtuse to rounded, abaxially keeled, stiff, leathery, dark green, younger leaves suffused or spotted with maroon, broadening abruptly at the apex, narrowing below into the carinate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on several, lateral, obliquely descending, peduncle .08" [2 mm] wide at the base, terete, compressed, rather ancipitous, broadening gradually, pink to maroon, provided with 1 to 2, basal bracts and a third midway, compressed, green, suffused with brown or maroon, 6 to 8" [15 to 20 cm] long overall, rachis 2.8 to 4.4" [7 to 11 cm] long, compressed, rather 4 angled, pink to maroon to greenish yellow, sporadically, successsively single, to 30 flowered inflorescence with in 2 opposite rows, antrose, parallelogram shaped, compressed, apically obtuse floral bracts and carrying an ephemeral, rather flacid flower.
