Common Name or Meaning The Laurel Forest Dwelling Thrixspermum - In China Huang Hua Bai Dian Lan

Found in Japan, Taiwan, western Hunan and northern Fujian provinces of China and northern Vietnam in moist Laurel forests on tree trunks at elevations of 600 to 1200 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an ascending, short stem carrying nearly basal, elliptic to linear-oblong, sometimes falcate, acute leaves that blooms in the spring on an ascending to pendulous, flexuous, slender, .8 to 1.6" [2 to 4 cm] long, laxly 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with ovate floral bracts and simultaneously opening flowers that last a few days.
