Found in southern India and Sri Lanka at elevations up to650 meters as a mniature to small sized, hot to warm, pendent growing epiphyte with a pendent stem becoming upturned at the apex carrying strap-shaped, slightly falcate, fleshy, sessile, coriaceous, grooved aong the mid rib, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the later summer and early fall on a terminal peduncle, 1 to 3.6" [2.5 to 9 cm] long, slender, broader towards the end, with 1 to 2 sterile bracts, successively single flowered inflorescence with acuminate, spiny, single veined, floral bracts.
