Found in Sulawesi in primary forests on trunks of trees along rivers anmd streams at elevations of 300 to 1000 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an erect, cylindrical, slightly compressed, persistently sheathed, leafy in the distal half stem carrying in 2 approximately opposite rows, suberect to spreading, lorate, unequally bilobed, one lobe rounded the other narrowing to an acute tip, usually with a small bristle in the sinus, thick, stiff, leathery, yellowish green to green, sheaths not tightly clasping stem, carinate, slightly compressed, much longer than the internode, pale green, maroon to brown, eventually becoming dry, sulcate and brown that blooms in the winter, spring, summer and fall on several, lateral from the lower portion of the stem, erect to spreading, peduncle filiform, hardly broadening below the rachis, green to brown with green markings, provided with a basal bract and a short loose bract below the middle, 1.34 to 2.4" [3.6 to 6 cm] long overall, rachis .08 to .2" [2 to 5 mm] long, slightly swollen, compressed, green to brownish green, sporadically, successively 1, to 8 flowered inflorescence with 2 opposite rows, not crowded, antrorse, triangular, acute, compressed, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying ephemeral flowers
