Found in Guatemala at elevations around 400 meters as a small sized, hot to warm gowing epiphyte with an ellipsoid pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, elliptical, acute, entire leaf that blooms in the late fall and early winter on 1 rarely 2, 4" [10 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence carrying non-scented flowers
Similar to T tortilis but differs in the truncate apically sepals, the 4 lobed lip, the large red blotches of the lip and the sepals which twist in a different manner.
