Common Name The Dark Trichocentrum

Flower Size 1 1/4" [3.1 cm]

Found as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte in Fr Guiana, Surinam, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia and Brazil in hot humid lowlands with inconspicuous pseudobulbs enveloped by white leafless sheaths and carrying a single, apical, linear-elliptic, acute to obtuse leaf, narrowed below into a conduplicate, short, petiole-like stem and blooms in the late winter and spring on a 1" [2.5 cm] long, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence arising as a new growth appears and carrying fragrant, variable colored flowers.
