Found in Peru in shady forests at elevations around 1800 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with linear-cylindric, compressed pseudobulbs enveloped basally by6 a few, firm, evanescent sheaths and carrying a single, apical, linear-oblong to elliptic-oblong, subcoriaceous, acute, shortly narrowing below into the sessile to shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a basal, suberect, very loosely 2 to 3 flowered, to 7" [17.5 cm] long inflorescence with 3 close, tubular, well spaced bracts and closely clasping, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts
