Common Name The Reverse Heart Shaped Lip Trichocentrum

Found in Morona-Santiago Ecuador in submontane rainforests at elevations around 1600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with nearly obsolescent pseudobulbs enveloped by 2 to 3 papyraeous sheaths and carrying a single, fleshy, green, ellliptic to elliptic-oblong, sessile, retuse leaf that blooms in the winter on a terete, 1" [2.5 cm] long, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute floral bracts and campanulate flowers
This species is part of the T pulchrum group which includes T longicalcaratum, T pulchrum, T viridulum and T loyalicum but differs in the 4 keels of the obcordate lip.
