Found in Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, the Nicobar Islands, the Andaman Islands, Malaysia and Java in primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen forests preferably on rocky limestone at elevations of 50 to 1200 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with an elongate slender stem carrying imbricating, basally clasping, acute, ovate leaves and blooms in the winter through summer on several short, axillary, single flowered inflorescence holding the flower close to the stem with 1 to 2 inflorescence at each and every leaf junction along the stem.
