Found in the mount Kinabalu area of Borneo in hill to upper hill transitional forests at elevations of 400 to 900 meters as a medium to large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an erect, clambering, entirely enveloped by leaf bearing sheaths carrying, many, arranged laterally, oblong, ligulate, obliquely obtusely bilobed, sometimes narrowing below the base, stiff, thick, coriaceous leaves that blooms in the winter on a lateral, arising from the leaf sheath base opposite the leaf, sessile, 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence with several per stem and has broadly ovate, obtuse, thick, green floral bracts.
