Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1200 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with elongate, flexuous, glabrous rhizome giving rise to simple, terete, leafy stems carrying erect-patent, linear, subacute, sparsely rufous-hispid to subglabrous leaves that blooms in the fall on lateral, thin, arcuate, as long as or a bit longer than the leaves, rufous-villous, rachis flexuous, laxly 3 to 7 flowered inflorescence.
Schlecther states that the flowers are red brown with golden brown hairs and the anther is red edged with white.
