Found in Sulawesi in montane forests on trees and shrubs at elevations of 1200 to 2000+ meters as a giant sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with an erect, branching, scrambling stem carrying 2 ranked leaves that blooms in the late fall and early winter on an axillary, 2 to 4 short branched, to 24" [to 60 cm] long, successsively to 10 at once, to 40 flowered inflorescence
