Found in Peru, Bolivia and Brazil at elevations of 2100 meters as a medium sized, cool to warm growing terrestrial with clustered, ovoid-conical pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 5 apical, oblong or elliptic-lanceolate, acute or acuminate, plicate leaves that blooms an a lateral, racemose, 2' [60 cm] long, longer than the leaves, few [4 to 5] flowered inflorescence with fragrant, waxy, long-lived flowers and prominent bracts equaling the length of the ovaries and occuring in the fall and winter in Brazil.
