Common Name The Obtuse Trigonidium

A medium sized, hot to warm growing species that is found in Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, The Guianas, Bolivia and Venezuela in tropical wet forests in large trees at elevations of 220 to 1000 meters, with ovoid, compressed, 2", smooth pseudobulbs closely spaced on the rhizome, with 2 apical, conduplicate below into the short petiolate base leaves that are linear-lanceolate, pointed, coriaceous, and 8-20" long. It has numerous basal inflorescence that are stiff, erect, wiry, 5" [12 cm] long, single flowered, inflorescence arising on mature pseudobulb and holds the long lasting flower at mid-leaf and blooms in the fall, winter and spring.
