Found in Rio de Janiero Brazil as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with clustered, ovoid, longitudinally sulcate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by imbricate, acute, sheaths and carrying 2 apical, erect, linear, acute, conduplicate below into the pseudo-petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on 1 to 2, erect, 5" [12.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescnece almost completely enveloped by imbricate, acuminate, acute bracts
