Found in Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Fr Guiana, Surinam, northern Brazil and Peru at elevations of 300 to 500 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, hot growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with an erect stem enveloped by 1 to 3 sheaths and carrying 4 to 8, basal, atrophied, linear-filamentous leaves that blooms on an erect, 2 to 4" [5 to 10 cm] long, single to few flowered inflorescence with ovate, shortly acuminate, shorter to as long as the ovary floral bracts .
