Found in the Moluccas and Sulawesi in riverine forests at elevations around 100 to 600 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an erect, unbranched, slightly compressed stem carrying several, leaf bases crowded and overlapping, strap-shaped, conduplicate, keeled below, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the fall on an axillary, horizontally spreading, 4 to 12" [10 to 30 cm] long, green, slighly zigzag, to 9 flowered inflorescence with .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm] between each slightly fragrant, in youth, flower.
