Found in New Guinea at elevations of 100 to 600 meters as a hot to warm growing terrestrial that blooms in the spring and summer

Schlechter states that the rigid, reddish to green colored, erect stem carrying 2, dark green with a white median stripe leaves and narrow hairy flowers separate this from the others in the genus.
