Common Name The Silvery Banded Vrydagzynea [refers to the leaves]

Found in New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu in primary rainforests at elevations of 100 to 1100 meters as a small to just medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with erect, pinkish to olive brown stems carrying 5 to 7, obliquely ovate, acute, green-checkered with light green, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, erect, to 6" [15 cm] long, few flowered inflorescense with lanceolate, obscurely serrate on the upper margin, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
