Found in the Bismark archipelago at elevations around 600 meters as a warm growing terrestrial with a decumbent, cauliform rhizome giving rise to a terete, glabrous, leafy stem carrying 6 to 10, erect-patent, obliquely ovate to elliptic-lanceolate, acute, glabrous, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, cylindrical, to 1.6" [4 cm] long, sublaxly 8 to 20 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
