Found in Antioquia department of Colombia as a natural hybrid between Cattleya warscewiczii and Guarinanthe hennisiana [Cattleya patinii] at elevations of 500 to 1400 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a stout creeping rhizome giving rise to erect, clustered, linear-oblanceolate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by scarious sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, apical, erect, coriaceous, stiff, linear-lanceolate, obtuse leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a terminal, to 8" [20 cm] long, peduncle slender, erect, distantly several bracted, to 8 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute, concave, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
