Found in Costa Rica, Peru and northern Brazil at elevations around 1350 to 1400 meters as a large sized, cool growing epiphyte with aggregate, erect, ovoid-oblong, transversly rounded, rugose in time pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, erect, plicate, 5 nerved, oblong-lanceolate, acuminate to acute, attenuate below into the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an ascending to horizontal, 3.2 to 8" [8 to 20 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, long acuminate, as long as the ovary floral bracts.
