Common Name Ball's Zeuxine [Zimbabwe Orchid Enthusiast 1900's]

Found in Malawi and Zimbabwe in lower riverine forests at elevations of 300 to 1330 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with an erect leafy stem carrying about 8, spirally arranged, light green with reticulate veining, ovate, acute, glabrous, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, erect, densely pubescent, rachis 1.2 to 2.8" [3 to 7 cm] long, subsecund, laxly 3 to 8 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate, ciliate margined floral bracts.
