Common Name The Large Zeuxine - In Chian Da Hua Xian Zhu Lan
Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]
Found in Hunan and Hainan provinces of China, Vietnam and Thailand in wet primary and secondary closed forests, often with bamboo, on shale, usually along rocky stream slopes at elevations of 600 to 1200 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying 2 to 6, usually withered at blooming, narrowly ovate, uniform dull green, acute, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, pubescent, to 2.4" [6 cm] long, 1 to 10 flowered inflorescence with triangular-ovate, acuminate, pubescent floral bracts.
CAUTION Most likely this species is a synonym of Z affinis but I have left them separate for now.
