Found in Ecuador and Peru in sub-andean forests as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an erect to ascending ramicaul enveloped by 3 to 4, apiculate sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect to suberect, ovate, obtuse, rounded below into the sulcate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a fasciculate, 1 to 3, .4" [1 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
