SUBGENUS Antilla Luer 2000 Characterized by a shorter to as long as the leaf ramicaul carrying an elliptical, acute sessile leaf which may have a denticulate margin. They have a loose, flexible, more or less flexuous inflorescence that arises through a small spathe. The plants and the inflorescence often are pendent, The flowers are produced either simultaneously or successively. The dorsal sepal is essentially free, the laterals are connate to lightly adherent into a minutely bifid synsepal. The petals are small, acute amd sometimes serrulate and the small lip is often unguiculate. The blade is more or less lobed and bicallous. The column is proportionally large and winged.
