Common Name The Antioquia Bulbophyllum [A Department of Colombia]

Flower Size

Found in Antioquia and Cauca departments of Colombia at elevations of 1200 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with aggregate, ovate to orbicular pseudobulbs carryinga single, apical, oblong-lanceolate, coriaeceous, acute leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, 4 to 4.8" [10 to 12 cm] long, nutant near the apex, fractiflex, slender, few to several flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.

Similar to B lehmannianum but readily distinguished by the oblong-lanceolate, subobtuse to acute petals with long pilose margins vs triangular, acute, margins thin and long ciliate petals, a retuse synsepal obtuse apically vs an acute to bidentate apically synsepal and by the lip base somewhat expanded to form obliquely oblong lobuls vs a cordate lip base."
