Flower Size .1" [2 mm]
Found in Sulawesi on isolated trees in windswept plains at elevations around 1700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with well spaced, ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single apical, erect, ovate, acute, gradually narrows into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms on a basal, patent, 1/4 to .4" [.8 to 1 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a tubular, acute floral bract.
Bulbophlylum masarangicum Schltr. is most similar to Bulbophyllum auritum , but has a lip with a distinct median ridge over the top part of the midlobe, and semi-elliptic, well-rounded sidelobes." J J Vermeulen & Peter O'Byrne 2008
