Part sun Cool Spring

Common Name The 2 Hollows Bulbophyllum [refers to the two depressions in the basal half of the lip]

Flower Size .48" [1.2 cm]

Found in Sabah and Sarawak Borneo in lower montane forests at elevations around 1200 to 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome giving rise to close set, prostrate on the rhizome, ovoid, flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic to obovate, acute, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a lateral, 1.6 to 2.2" [3.5 to 5.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with tubular, acuminate, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts.

"Differs from B. lambii J.J. Vermeulen in having obovate (not spathulate) petals, and a lip with a distinctly drawn-out top part, as well as two ridges in the basal part (rather than scattered irregular teeth)." Verneulen & Lamb 1994
