Common Name The Rust Red Sickle Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 2 to 2 1/4" [5 to 6 cm] long

Found in New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu in marshy lowland forests at elevations of 50 to 1209 meters with only an inflorescence that bloomed in the late winter and early spring on a thin, 2.75" [6.8 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a tubular, shortly acuminate floral bract.

Similar to B contortisepalum but differs in the length and shape of the dorsal sepal and in the apex of the petals. The elongate, drooping, basally intertwined sepals are mostly the same in either species
