Common Name The Yellow Flowered Bulbophyllum
Flower Size to 3/4" [to 2 cm]
Found from Sumatra and Java in fairly dark montane forests on tree trunks at elevations around 800 to 2100 meters as a miniature sized, creeping, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a thick, freely branching rhizome with 1.6" to 3.2" [4 to 8 cm] between each narrowly ovoid, adpressed to the rhizome pseudobulbs and carrying a single, apical, lanceolate, more or less acute, twisted below into a short petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a node or below the pseudobulb, produced simultaneously alll along the rhizome, 1/4" [8 mm] long, to 4 flowered inflorescence with lightly scented flowers that do not open well.
