This species is found in Assam India, eastern Himalayas, Bhutan, Sikkim, southern China and Taiwan in the understory of forests as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or lithophyte on mossy rocks at elevations of 1000 to 3000 meters that has close set, ovoid, compressed, weakly falcate, rugose pseudobulbs with a single apical, deflexed, oblong-lanceolate, subacute to obtuse, petiolate base leaf and blooms in the fall on a basal, very short inflorescence with a basal, tubular sheath and carrying a single flower and requiring high humidity and light shading.
