SECTION Leopardinae Bentham 1883

TYPE: Bulbophyllum leopardinum (Wall.) Lindl. 1830

Vermuellen 1991 " to accommodate a series of species which have the node between the peduncle and the pedicel more or less coinciding with its bract, or have the distance between this node and its bract not exceeding 1.5 times the diameter of the pedicel at its base. In sect. Sestochilus as well as sect. Stenochilus the distance between the node and its bract equals or exceeds 2 times the diameter of the pedicel at its base"

Seven species make up this sectiopn from forests up to 3300 meters in India, Nepal, China, Taiwan, Indochina, Myanmar, Thailand, and the Philippines.
