Common Name The Shaggy Belly Bulbophyllum

Found in Sulawesi in forests remnants at elevations of 1400 to 1900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with .64" to 2.64" [1.6 to 6.6 cm] between each distinct, straggling, erect, ellipsoid-cylindrical to ovoid-cylindrical, obtusely angular pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic to elliptic-ovate, obtuse to subacute, petiolate base leaf that blooms on a basal, peduncle .16" to .28" [.4 to .7 cm] long, provided with 2 bracts, 1.2 to 1.52" [3 to 3.8 cm] long overall, single flowered inflorescence with acute, much shorter than the the ovary floral bracts.
Uniquely identified by the triangular, adaxially papillose petals and the papillose coulmn foot. Differs from B lissogaster by its glabrous petals, and the glabrous face of the column. The anther cap of B lasiogaster has a slightly thickened front part, reminiscent of SECTION Hoplandra.
