Found in Assam India, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanmar and Thailand in forests at elevations of 1300 to 3300 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte or lithophyte with close set, ovoid, decurved, slightly rugose pseudobulbs carrying a single, ellipic, acute, conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaf and blooms in the fall on a basal, 2 1/2" [6.25 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence.
