Found in Sarawak Borneo in peat swamp forests in lowlands as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with .72 to .95 [1.8 to 2.4 cm] between each ellipsoid to obovoid, 4 angled pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic, obtuse, shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, .6" [1.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.

This species differs from B. epicrianthes (with which it is most similar) in the oblong green lip with a rounded apex. B. papillosofilum differs from B. liorphalon in having narrowly ovate-triangular petal appendages.
