Found in Sabah and Kalimantan Borneo in lowland to wet mossy upper montane forests at elevations of 250 to 1700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with close set, ovoid, somewhat flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, rather thin, elliptic, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring, summer and early fall on an erect, basal, 1.4 to 2.4" [3.5 to 6 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a tubular floral bract.

Similar to B gofferjeei but it has 2 large teeth on the adaxial side of the lip and has a shorter median sepal,
