Found in New Guinea on trees in primary range forests at elevations around 500 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized each growth, small sized plant, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with [1.5 to 21 cm between each ovoid to ellipsoid, somewhat flatrtened pseudobulb carryign a single, apical, ovate to elliptic, obtuse apically, shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter, spring and summer on 1 to a few erect, peduncle .24 to .4 [.6 to 1 cm] long, with 2 to 3 bracts, .6 to 1.12" [1.5 to 2.8 cm] long overall, single to 2 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying simultaneously opening flowers.
Schlechter states that the flowers pale yellow and the lip is purple towards the base.
