Found in New Guinea on trees in primary range forests at elevations around 500 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized each growth, small sized plant, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with [1.5 to 21 cm between each ovoid to ellipsoid, somewhat flatrtened pseudobulb carryign a single, apical, ovate to elliptic, obtuse apically, shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter, spring and summer on 1 to a few erect, peduncle .24 to .4 [.6 to 1 cm] long, with 2 to 3 bracts, .6 to 1.12" [1.5 to 2.8 cm] long overall, single to 2 flowered inflorescence with ovate acute floral bracts and carrying simultaneously openiong flowers.

Schlechter states that the flowers pale yellow and the lip is purple towards the base.
