Found in western Sumatra at elevations around 1700 to 2200 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with .6" [1.5 cm] between each disc-shaped pseudobulbs carrying a single, linear-lanceolate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the channeled, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, basal, peduncle 7 bracted, 3.2 to 3.4" [8 to 8.5 cm] long, rachis angular, 3.2" [8 cm] long, 6.4 to 6.6" [16 to 16.5 cm] long overall, fairly lax, 16 to 22 flowered inflorescence.
Similar to B unguiculatum but it has shorter, proportionally broader bracts, more lanceolate petals and differences in the column.
