Found in Java, Sabah Borneo and the Lesser Sunda Islands in lower wet montane forests at elevations of 1500 to 2000 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with close set, ovoid, hardly to slightly flattened, adpressed to the rhizome, chain-like pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, thick, ovate to elliptic, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on an erect, .6 to 1.4 [1.5 to 3.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a tubular floral bract and carrying unscented flowers
