Common Name Romburgh's Bulbophyllum [German original collector of species late 1800's early 1900's]
Flower Size .32" [8 mm] long
Found in western Sumatra and Borneo in rather low and open ridge forests and riverine forests at elevations of 400 to 1300 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with close set, ovate, quadrangular, with rounded angles, shiny, yellowish green pseudobulbs carrying a single apical, erect, shiny green above, dull green beneath, lanceolate, acute, shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the early summer on a more or less erect, basal, peduncle thin, terete, whitish green, to 1.4" [3.5 cm] long, with a tubular basal sheath, rachis .08" [2 mm] long, many flowered inflorescence with sublate, acute, whitish spotted brown floral bracts.
