Found in central Vietnam at elevations of 500 to 1000 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with .6 to .8" [1.5 to 2 cm[ between each, ovoid pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic to obovate, obtuse, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect to patent, that is as long as the leaf, peduncle to 12" [30 cm] long, provided with 5 bracts, rachis 8” [20 cm] long, nodding, swollen, circular in section, elongated, anthesis from the top of the rhachis downwards, lax, several flowered inflorescence with acuminate floral bracts.
Similar to B Osyricera sharing the short, denticulate petals, the operculum with a papillate extension, but the flower dimensions and the shape of the labellum separate them. Also B erosipetalum has a sinilar habit but the inflorescence is shorter, the lip and petals siffer and the stelida is trident-like.
