Found in western Sumatra and Java at elevations around 300 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with close set, disc-shaped pseudobulbs carrying a single, lanceolate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, basal, peduncle .6 to 1.2" [1.5 to 3 cm] long, rachis 1.9 to 2.2" [4.75 to 5.5 cm] long, 2.48 to 3.4" [6.25 to 8.5 cm] long overall, lax, many flowered inflorescence.
Similar to B unguiculatum but it has shorter, proportionally broader bracts, more lanceolate petals and differences in the column.
