Common Name Steyermark's Bulbophyllum [American Botanist in Venezuela 20th cen]

Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador in very wet montane forests as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte occuring in open forests at elevations of 1200 to 2800 meters with elongate, ovoid, slightly rugose pseudobulbs subtended by 2 scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse leaf that is conduplicate towards the petiolate base that blooms in the summer on a basal, erect, bracteate, 13" [32.5 cm] long, racemose inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb with an arching, fleshy peduncle carrying many flowers held well above the leaves
