Found in Papua New Guinea in rainforest at elevations around 700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with a creeping, arising from the basal nodes of the rhizome initially covered thin, little persistent rhizome scales with .08 to .12" [.2 to .3 cm] between each distinct, ovoid, sometimes angular pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, lanceolate, somewhat fleshy, apex slightly recurved, obtuse above on either side of the midrib slightly channelled, slightly convex, narrowed and conduplicate base leaf that blooms in fall on many together on a distinctly elongated, sparsely branched sympodium, peduncle .4 to .6" [1.0 to 1.5 cm] long, provided with a single scale, .92 to 1.2" [2.3 to 3.0 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying dark red purple flowers.
