Found in the north island of New Zealand in lowland native conifer canopy always with a blue-grey lichen as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with clustered, pear to ovate shaped, smooth becoming wrinkled with age pseudobulbs with white, wax-like extrusions if in flower and carrying an erect, tawny, pale green to purple beneath leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, basal, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence
