Found only in Sabah Borneo in hill and lower montane forests at elevations of 400 to 1000 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with ovoid, somewhat flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, rather thick, elliptic basally conduplicate into a petiolate base leaf and blooms in the summer in situ on a basal, 2.1" [5.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with elliptic floral bracts.
Said to be a synonym of B elevatopunctatum but it has teeth along the lower margin of the stellida which is smaller or absent
