Found in Antioquia department of Colombia in upper montane forests at elevations around 2650 meters as a large sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, elongate stem carrying 12 to 13, elliptic to oblong, acute, subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, peduncle to 13.2" [33 cm] long, rachis to 14" [35 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts and carrying green flowers.

Similar to C palaciosii but with a narrower dorsal sepal and a relatively longer lip. Szlach & Kolan 2023
