Common Name The Deflexed Lobe Dendrobium [refers to the side lobes of the lip]

Found in Sabah Borneo in hill forests at elevations around 600 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with simple stems carrying spreading, acicular, subfalcate, acute, subterete, shallowly canaliculate, rigid, sparsely dark brown hairy leaves with densely dark brown, hairy sheaths that blooms in the winter on lateral, peduncle .12" [3 mm] 3 to 4 flowpered inflorescence with ovate, obtuse, pale brown, blackish brown hairy, especially towards the apex shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying flowers with salmon pink to apricot tepal with dark orange nerves, petals tipped with white, lip poale creamy yellow and the column and anther cap white.
J J Wood compares this specices to D pachyglossum and D pinifolium but is easily distinguished by the sparsely brown hairy leaves and the sharply deflexed lip mid lobe which almost touches the underside of the blade.
