Common Name The Cross Shaped Dendrochilum [refers to the lip]

Found in northern Borneo in mossy forests at elevations of 900 to 2000 meters and in the var longicuspe 2000 to 2500 meters as a miniature sized, clump forming, warm to cool, and in the var longicuspum cold growing epiphyte with cylindrical to narrowly fusiform, erect pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, 3 to 4 nerved,narrowly linear, subacute to acute, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on an erect, gently curving, peduncle 1 to 2.6" [2.5 to 6.5 cm] long, without bracts, rachis quadrangular, 1.4 to 2.6" [3.5 to 6.5 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
